“I am not an engineer, but I become one when I figure it out myself”. Ricardo Paniagua often engineers his own masking systems and mechanisms to create his intuitively driven designs; pairing them with architectural tools, pin striping brushes, and hypnotizing color.
“I am forced to be innovative with tools, and some don't exist yet in order to make what I want.” Ricardo Paniagua is a self taught artist whose desire for perfection is “driven like wildfire” to produce his premeditated high art contemporary pieces.
“It happens rapidly in my minds eye and then I cultivate it further by making, not thinking.” Each of his painstakingly precise pieces take a great deal of time to make, and evolve off of each other. Paniagua or RPG3 says that his work transcends the notion of sacred geometry, giving his work no symbolic meaning; instead says that his art reveals his spiritual nature, which is someone who is concerned about order in a world that seems disorderly. Feeling that the universe is structured around order regardless of cataclysmic events, a harmonic balance manifests physically, and for Ricardo Paniagua these words translate into a “frozen depiction of perfect law envisioned by man.” Ricardo describes his art as “universal to all people”, accessible to every mind, kids, scholars, and elders. His work shares a deeper truth which at the core belongs to the person viewing the piece. ”To stimulate the mind is to illuminate a path.”
